On Saturday, October 5, 2013, Saint Francis of the Rogue Valley celebrated our annual Day of Recollection at Suncrest Retreat Center in Talent, Oregon. Holy Names Sister Mary Pat Naumes, was once again our host. As a special treat Sister Mary Pat took the entire group to the new chapel at Saint Mary’s High School in Medford. Her cousin, Patrick Naumes, who was a beloved teacher at the school, had the dream of the chapel. Sister Mary Pat was very influential in getting the project completed and she feels that our little Franciscan group was an inspiration for her during the process. Deacon Ron Filardi of Sacred Heart in Medford conducted a wonderful dedication service which involved a blessing of the new work by Kevin Christman of Saint Francis.
